Wissembourg

Wissembourg is the northest point of Alsace, right on the German border where hills and mountains seem to join. The town, which name means "white castle" spreads upon the flow of the river Lauter. Built at the foot of woody hills, among vineyards, orchards, fields of crops and romantic ruins, Wissembourg is an agricultural town. At the Pentecost, the town is alive with alsatian folk music and traditions.
You can enjoy a visit at any time of the year, stroll along the canals and think of Marie Lesczynca who lived here before she married Louis XV and became Queen of France.
