With its rich gastronomic traditions, Alsace has an impressive concentration of award-winning chefs. It was in this most generous of provinces that Jean-Pierre Clause, head chef to the Marshal de Contades perfected the recipe for gourmet foie gras in 1780.

  A constant level of quality 
Extreme care is taken in the preparation of Edouard Artzner's products : all the livers are sorted one by one by hand before being selected by the chef to be included in one of our foie gras !

  Unique culinary know how passed down since 1803  
It was in 1803 that Philippe-Edouard Artzner opened a shop seling foie gras in Strasbourg. His son Edouard had the idea of putting foie gras in terrine dishes in 1850.
Already a favourite supplier of royal courts during the last century, Edouard Artzner has since then earned a reputation for quality, and has become one of the jewels in the crown of French gastronomy.
If Edouard Artzner is today the oldest producer of foie gras still active in France, it is because the recipe for its authentic Strasbourg foie gras has been passed down through generations of chefs.
